I own a 2015 Hyundai i20 Active sx 1.4 crdi diesel. The design of this car is absolutely phenomenal. I adore that fluidic sculpture 2.0 design philosophy. Additionally, it is based on the GB Platform which underpins the Elite i20, Grand i10, Xcent, Verna and other Hyundai and Kia Cars as well. Although, it might remind you of Elite i20, but still it excels in terms of design.
The interior of this car boasts a lot of sporty appeal, as it gets Black interior with a slew of Orange accents on AC Vents and Gear lever knob. Even the instrument cluster of this car is very informative. It shows door status, instantaneous Speed in digital form, Service reminder and plethora of other features as well.
The top of the line sx variants gets 7 inch Touchscreen Infotainment System supporting Bluetooth, AUX, Navigation, FM, USB, Integrated offline Maps etc. But at that time Apple Carplay and Android Auto wasn't available. This system is paired to an Audio setup of 4 Speakers and 4 Tweeters resulting in Amazing Sound Quality
My i20 Active is powered by 1.4 L U2 CRDi Diesel Engine belting out 88hp of power @4000 rpm and 220Nm of Torque @1750 Rpm. In terms of performance, Low end is good, Mid range is a lot punchy and Top End isn't that exciting. The motor is paired to a 6 Speed Manual Gearbox offering a blend of smooth and Slick shifts. In terms of Handling, it is almost equal to Elite i20 in-spite of having higher C.G. At low speeds, Steering is Supremely light, making it easy to twirl around the city. But at high Speeds, Steering doesn't weigh up resulting in Lack of confidence at highway speeds. Talking about Ride Quality. It still absorbs everything in it's stride in-spite of being stiffer than Elite i20. I have clocked 60,000 kms till now. And still it has hoonigan performance on offer.
