Ford Ecosport has achieved great success in India since it's launch. It was one of the first cars to start compact SUV segment in India. If you want to read a full detailed blog about the Ecosport, just click here. As I am one of the proud owners of the Ecosport, I am going to give an ownership review of the Ford Ecosport. Car: Ford Ecosport Variant: Titanium+ Year: 2018 Engine: 1.5L TDCi (Diesel) 1. Why Ecosport?
- Earlier I was planning to buy Vitara Breeza because of it's resale value and reliability, Nexon was also available at that time but I didn't buy it because I don't like Tata cars and I was not a fan of its design. I took a test drive of the new facelifted Ecosport and I was immediately impressed with the new design, safety features, build quality on offer, and most importantly, the driving dynamics. I felt that it was the perfect car for me. 2. Pros I love almost everything about my Ecosport but here are my top favourites: - Punchy performance - Awesome handling - 6 Airbags - smooth SYNC 3 infotainment system - TPMS (tyre pressure monitoring system) - Design - full-size alloy spare wheel - Keyless entry - Auto-dimming IRVM 3. Cons - no rear AC vents - less space in rear seats 4. Problems faced till now
- One major problem I faced with this car was the tyre bursting issue. the titanium+ variant came with 17-inch low profile Bridgestone Ecopia tyres(205/50R17). I did about 7-8 tyre changes and I got really frustrated so I decided to try other tyre sizes, I tried 225/50R17 and they worked pretty well, Since then I didn't face any issues with the tyres. Other small problems like broken AC vents and weird noises from the rear viper also frustrate me. 5. After-sales service - After-sales service of Ford is awesome. Once I was in Manali with the Ecosport and I was facing some battery related issue, so I called Ford to fix the car, there was no Ford service centre or anything nearby, that's why the mechanics came all the way from Chandigarh to help me out with the issue. Maintenance is also cheap.
IS IT STILL WORTH BUYING NOW?
- Yes, it's still worth buying but there are also many new and better competitors in the segment now. If you are looking for a diesel car then you can buy the new XUV300 because it's more refined and more punchy than the Ecosport. If you are looking for a petrol car then I will recommend you to go for the new Nexon or Ecosport.
